Please join us Sunday for a panel discussion on the future of the local food system. The event, "Feeding the Future," will be held on June 26, noon-3pm, at Fresh Cafe in Kakaako.
The event will include three panels: 1) The challenges and opportunities facing local farms; 2) The next generation of local restauranteurs; 3) Calls to action: What we should do.
"Feeding the Future," sponsored by Yelp.com, Whole Foods, and The Hawaii Independent, will culminate a month-long series of articles relating to food, with online discussions on the key issues such as water, land, and labor availability; food security; local vs. organic; and the rise of a new generation of young farmers and restauranteurs.
