The Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation (“NHLC”), a non-profit, public interest law firm whose core mission is the protection, preservation, and perpetuation of the Native Hawaiian identity, will be holding its fundraiser entitled “Nā Kānaka Kai: People of the Shore”, on Saturday, November 19, 2011 5 p.m to 8:30 p.m. at the Dr. Richard T. Mamiya Theatre. The event features two films: “Miss South Pacific: Beauty & The Sea”, a revealing look at the impact climate change and the resulting rise in sea level is having on the lives of our South Pacific Island neighbors, and, “I Just Love To Paddle”, which follows legendary Hawaiian waterman Nappy Napoleon in his one man canoe.
Advance purchase through paypal via NHLC’s website or by calling NHLC at 521-2302. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. A portion of your ticket purchase price is tax deductible as permitted by law. Advance purchases are greatly appreciated!
